Matthew M. Korona is senior counsel to the firm. Matt graduated from St. John Fisher College and the University of Dayton Law School. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association (Business Law and Intellectual Property Law Sections) and the Business Law Section of the Monroe County Bar Association. He is a founding member of the Rochester AM Rotary Club, where he held several offices including President, and is a two-time Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow recipient. For more than 25 years, Matt served as a Board and Advisory Board Member for Pathway Houses of Rochester, including a 2-year term as President and recently as a member of the Steering Committee for its merger with SBH. Matt has served on the St. John Fisher College Planned Giving Advisory Committee since its inception and is a 1993 graduate of Leadership Rochester. Matt spends his spare time at Keuka Lake with his wife, Mary Jo, his new granddaughter, daughters and sons-in-law.
Matt helps entrepreneurs and business owners be successful by advising them regarding entity formation and ongoing operational and contractual issues that develop while operating their businesses, including financing matters, issues among owners, succession planning and commercial real estate. He also assists with purchasing and selling ongoing businesses, including stock and asset acquisitions, mergers and business transfers to partners or family members. Matt represents individuals and businesses in all aspects of commercial real estate matters. This includes negotiating contracts for purchases and sales and leases for landlords and tenants, assistance with due diligence analysis and closings. In addition, Matt advises business owners on their exit strategies, including estate planning.
